Prepare your brand for 2022

10 January 2022 • Filed under Branding

As we jump head first into Q1 of a fresh new year, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the business planning and goal setting. If you feel like you don’t know where to start, I suggest you firstly have a look within your brand and prepare it for a new year of business, projects and ideas, before even setting any goals at all! Prepare your brand for 2022 with these easy steps:

1. Analyze your brand

Ask yourself questions like: what are my brand values? Who is my ideal client? What is my unique approach and tone of voice? What makes my brand different?

This kind of questions will allow you to analyze your brand deeper and take strategic actions to reflect your business direction moving forward.

2. Review your branding basics

While rebranding might be the answer for some, it’s not something you’d do every start of the year, especially if your brand goals and values are still coherent and consistent with your current branding. Yet sometimes you might feel your branding needs a little refresh! It’s totally normal, and there’s no need to drastically erase what have represented you until now. Even just reviewing your branding basics like colors and fonts and making sure they still reflect your brand’s personality can do the difference. If not, you can always make small changes to your colors and fonts to realign your brand without a drastic redesign.

3. Renew your social media strategy

Social media is constantly changing and so should your brand’s communication on any social platform. With social media focusing more and more on video content, plan to implement more videos in your strategy. Prepare branded social media graphics to accompany your new video content (think of Instagram reel covers) to make your online presence look coherent and always coordinated.

4. Review and pare down your offerings

Whenever you’ll be ready to set your yearly goals, make sure you review and pare down your offerings to ensure you’re focusing on the work you love doing and your clients really need the most. Get rid of any offerings that doesn’t really make your heart sing or doesn’t resonate with your ideal clientele anymore.

I hope you’re excited to begin a fresh new year of business as much as I do! And I hope you can start it on the right foot with these small steps to avoid the overwhelm of the new year to do lists, goal settings and planning.
